Morning All.
This morning my partner got a letter to contact the local council regarding council tax debt (we have none) , when she called she was advised that they have been informed by another council that she has unpaid council tax in an area she has never lived. strangely who ever this person is that hasnt paid council tax is using my partners first name and my last name, we now want to check both her and my credit files to check no credit has been obtained under either our names. I know you can get statatory reports from equifax but i dont know the other 2 agensies is there somewhere where we can order all 3 reports ?
thanks.

Hiya Roswell... I've always used Experian and I've had no problems at all with them... I even carried on paying £4-99 a month after the 30 day free trial had ran out. I've actually just cancelled my membership with them though this morning, but for no other reason than an Insurance Policy I have gives me free access to Experian so it seemed a stupid expense for me, If you do sign up with them... Remember to cancel before the 30 days is up else they will keep billing you monthly0

There is a further alternative which is FREE, although I am not sure if it covers the North East yet: https://www.annualcreditreport.co.uk
Worth checking out though.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

All three agency’s try their best to hide the requests for the statutory reports that cost £2 each.

You can sign up for the "free trials" as long as you cancel them within the first 30 days, however if it is a one off enquiry you are far better off just getting the paper copy’s for the £2:rolleyes: It’s hard enough remembering my opinions - without remembering my reasons for them :rolleyes:0
