I agree with TM too, the problem of the multiple acknowledgments has gone and I think that the wording of the copy and paste sticky is just perfect.

I don't think that 2 threads will work at all as they will end up with the content of them being blurred and then there'll be another discussion in 6 months time about what subject belongs in which thread.

The time of the first post has never bothered me

This is exactly what I thought. Someone will make an OS suggestion on the Strict thread and it could cause someone else to ask more about it and then it could just turn into a chat without anyone meaning it to!

I think that welcome sticky at the begining of the thread each day is a wonderful idea!!!! Definatly think we should be using that one from now on.

Please don't shoot me..... but I have been reading and lurking for ages and have never ever posted on the daily thread......big big gulp of air and here goes: I love the idea of the daily thread with Andrea's sticky at the top so maybe keep that, but rather than have a second thread how about something totally different? Since OS is leading the way in so many areas on MSE and so many peeps on OS love chatting, is it not time to have virtual chat room that is perhaps only open for chatting maybe once or twice a day? All the OS peeps that want a good old chat can do so in peace and if something comes up while chatting that needs more time than that can go permanently on the daily or another thread in OS. This would refelect real life ..... so much chat is well just chit chat and really should disappear and not hang around for months and months....... don't know if the technology exists on MSE to do this......Ok will get my coat and go.... thanks for reading Mega xx
