savings account and other questions

Options
I am thinking about trying to open a savings account, just to help budget for car tax and mot and things like that.
I have read about yorkshire building society, how does this work?

There is not a branch near me so how do you pay in money and withdraw it.
would I be allowed to open a account with them? Br nearly a month. Would I need to tell or if I do open one?

I have been doing surveys on line etc for a while and get small amounts for this, Ive been told on here that its ok as only small pay outs not very often, I also use cash back sites if I need to buy anything is this ok too or do I need to tell or.
Also I have sometimes sold the odd thing on ebay, nothingworth loads mostly books clothing etc, is this allowed now Im br?
Thanks.

My husband and I were talking about this yesterday. I thought it would be a good idea but he thinks that the savings would become an asset that the OR could take. We're obviously not talking huge savings but would include the money allocated to the car/clothes/holiday to be used when needed.

    What do you reckon?
