where to buy sand in small quantities?

can anyone help?
i after making some of them rocks with little toys dinosaurs in/treasures, that the kids can break open but i cant find sand!

well i can but its in HUGE bags and i need, at most about 2-3 cupfuls.
anyone know where i can buy it in small quantities?

    thats so nice, but wouldnt your dd mind?
    im gutted as my kids left the lid off their sand pit and a neighbours cats had done their business in it, so it was all thrown away!

    What about the 'decorative' sand that you can buy to use with candles. Would that work?
    A creative mess is better than tidy idleness :D

    For the special sand you use for kids sand pits, I think toysarus sell it in smallish bags. I may have seen it also in B&Q, but not sure about that.

    Pet shops! Pet shops that stock fish/reptiles will have little bags of sand for £2-3 for using as substrate. It's usually in the fish section than the reptile section, HTH
  • If you only need such a small amount perhaps a local playgroup or after school club would help you out. It might be worth asking them if you can buy a small amount from them.
