Probably went to Flamingo Land, that is the only reason someone from the North East would go to Ripon for. :o:o

OP my OH works in Darlington, we live in Durham. My local petrol station is 7p a litre more expensive than the same one in Darlington. Stick to filling up there!

I once noticed a 3p different between the two Morrisons stores in Darlington, but i assumed they'd changed it in that 10 mins it took to get to the other one :D

My ex lives in a village near Chesterfield and says the prices there are usually the same as ours in Darlington

petrol costs always have been varied across the country and the main reason is transportation costs from refines etc and the only thing that will bring that down would be local competetion they will not make a loss unless its an area they want to get into.
i personally live near portsmouth and lucky for me i live in one of the cheapest areas in country for petrol and to be honest most petrol stations are much of a much time you travelled out of your way say saved 3p a litre on a fifty litre tank you have saved a grand total of £1.50 if you work out the time factor and petrol and other factors wear and tear and aggro was it worth it answer prob not. just don't go to the most expensive in area downhere 'total' are always about 4-5p over everyone else and usally the best is 'shell' in my experience around portsmouth area.
