Cheap buffet/party food ideas

Hi all,
Not sure if this has already been posted somewhere but I couldn't find it... so apologies if it has, or if I've posted in the wrong place.
I am having family over tomorrow evening for a little house-warming party (approx 15 people) and I'm looking for ideas to help me keep the buffet low cost. I would be grateful, therefore, if anybody could suggest any of the following:
*cheap and easy party food recipes (please don't forget the "easy" part, I'm no Nigella!
)
*any offers you've spotted in shops for party-type grub/nibbles
*any other interesting/exciting low-cost party food ideas.
Thanks in advance

hot buffets are cheaper and easier than cold ones
a pan of chilli/curry with jacket potatoes, or a big lasagne, will always be more filling for the guests, and less work for the host (and is also easier to use up afterwards if you have lots of left overs)
unless you plan on buying everything ready made, then a cold buffet takes quite alot of time to assemble, and most ready made bits, like sausage rolls, egg bites, pork pies, tend to be quite bland if they are the cheaper ones

There are loads of ideas on the 'moneysaving old style' forum for buffets.Not Buying It 20150

Speaking of Nigella, look up her recipe for sticky cocktail sausages, they're amazing! Also pastry bites with stilton & cherry tomato baked on top, and tomatoes drizzled in oil in the oven is nice too. Mozzarella, sliced tomato and red onion on a platter is lovely and easy to prepare.
(Sounds like I eat a lot of tomatoes, I don't, these just popped into my head)0
