There was a pregnant lady next to me in the queue to go BR this morning, when she suddenly yelped and realised she'd forgotten the money for the fee!
Anyway, as she was pleading with them to let her nip home and fetch it one of the court staff asked to have a quick check of her forms to make sure all was well before making a wasted trip to home and back, turned out she was only at the wrong court, and she'd paid a company £700 (!) to sort out her BR forms for her and they hadn't even sent her to the right place.
I hope she got sorted in the end, but charging someone £700 for this sort of shoddy service is verging on daylight robbery!!

You would hope that she would get her money back but I guess it is unlikely0 -

Hmm sadly I hear of many many people duped by services like this...and they're always left to continue [STRIKE]ripping off[/STRIKE] helping peopleWe all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0 -
I feel very sorry for that lady, the fees alone are hard enough to find, let alone £700 on top of that.
I agree with Jedi82, when you first start looking for information and advice, it is hard to know where to look. We wasted 3 months with a debt advice company (they dont charge) that treated us really badly, promising to help us and liaise with creditors. All that happened was they delayed the inevitable and added to the stress we were under at the time. Our complaint was taken by an ex adviser to the charities commission, who agreed we had been treated unfairly, I just didnt have the strength at the time to go further with it.
I am so pleased I found this site.0
