need advice about old debts haunting me

hi, i have recently got my credit ref from equifax and on there is an old debt that i chose to forget about. its for a credit card and almost £10k but it has been ignored for about 2 or more years. i want to rent a property and this is on the reference (i have other bad debts too so it would not be a perfect reference anyway). what do i do? do i call the company and try to make payments? (i would only be able to afford about £20.00 a month). do i ignore it and hope it dies.....thanks for any advice you can give me

It'll take six years to die and it wont die at all if they can get a court order in the mean time. Don't fret though because £20p/m is in a totally different league to £0 p/m and you actually can get your problem debts dealt with on that, if you wanted to. Interested?
