Buy a laptop from Toshiba and if it goes wrong in the first year, not only do they repair or replace, they also give you your moneyback!
now that is being confident!

must say however Toshiba build quality speaks volumes, have had one for a couple of years now - still running fine!

what a good idea to inspire confidence in their products.
....but should i be worried. I have a Toshiba Portege that's now 10months old and is not on their list of monyback qualifying products !!!Moneysaving is costing me a fortune!0 -
What's to stop someone deliberately breaking one and claiming the offer ?
A high voltage discharge into an external interface should be sufficient I'd have thought to induce a fault of some sort that was not identifiable as anything other than a component failure !There are 10 types of people in the world. ‹(•¿•)›(11)A104.28S94.98O112.46N86.73D101.02(12)J130.63F126.76M134.38A200.98M156.30J95.56J102.85A175.93

I wouldn't buy from them again. Mine lasted 15 months and died - was about £1k so not an entry level one either.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0

The likely hood of any laptop failing within the first 12 months is small. Not to mention they'll have added a bit extra on every laptop sale to cover the small few that may fail.
I wouldn't try and damage it yourself as no doubt they won't just be handing money out without checking it fully. They'll be aware of such scammers and it'll just leave you with no laptop if your destory it!0 -

The same thing that stops people staling one off the shelf. What you're suggesting is no less criminal.quoia wrote:What's to stop someone deliberately breaking one and claiming the offer ?...Can I help?0 -

Same here, bought two Toshiba laptops. Both died approx eight months after purchase. Had to send them for repair three or four times, with the motherboard being replaced on one because of a graphics card fault!"He's a maniac, maniac that's for sure,

What you're suggesting is no less criminal.
Never suggested that it wasn't.
But people DO help themselves.
Getting caught with one under your jacket is rather more proof of the fact than you claiming that it has developed a fault.
Having worked on computers for over 30 years including laptops, I could make one faulty that Toshiba could no way prove was deliberate (whatever their suspicions) and all they would find would be a faulty component.
For that matter if it failed due to a lightning strike on your local telephone exchange or electicity sub-station, providing components had not been blown off the PCBs or there is not a large charred hole in it, would they still pay up ? And would you mention the flash from the heavens? There are 10 types of people in the world. ‹(•¿•)›(11)A104.28S94.98O112.46N86.73D101.02(12)J130.63F126.76M134.38A200.98M156.30J95.56J102.85A175.93

My mum had one that didn't work straight from the box a couple of months back. Don't remember the model.0
