Freezing food

Soes anyone know whether I can freeze (after browning) mince which was bought on Monday and I forgot to freeze - it has been in the fridge. (Large quantity)

Or am I better to make it into a meal after browning then freeze.

Thanks
Jo

If you cook then allow to cool it will be safe to freeze your mince.
The most important thing is it will need to be re-cooked after defrosting. You really do not want to re-heat a cooked product. It would always be safest to re-cook meat. If you have plans for the mince, e.g. bolognase, chilli, etc. these can be prepared and then frozen, but, again would need to be re-cooked before serving.
For myself I am an optimist - there does not seem to be much use being anything else.

If you bought the mince fresh, its fine to defrost. If you bought the meat frozen, do not refreeze. If you did however buy thge mince fresh in a packet, make sure you read the packet, some may say "do not refreeze".

If you do freeze anything, make sure its bubbling hot before you serve it, any cooler and you risk bacteria not being destroyed.
