Bloodshot Eyes

But that's just your own experience. It's not knowledge based and therefore shouldn't be given as gospel advice.Beware the character seeking personal gain masquerading as a moral crusader.

is there any pain in the eye? any loss of vision? any black spots or an unusual amount of floaters in your vision? numbness around the eye? If so get yourself to a hospital.
If not, and there was gungy stuff in your eye this morning it could be a touch of conjunctivitis which can be treated with eye drops available over the counter, your local pharmacy will be able to help if this is the case, they'll have a list of questions to diagnose.
If it's just bloodshot and nothing else it could be related to allergy, not getting enough sleep, being in a smoky environment.
ETA just noticed you said a few months ago, you should see your optician and get them to have a look, probably nothing to worry about though if it's been like that for months with no other problems.
I'm not having a pop at you, but there is no way should be giving advice on a subject you are not qualified to do so. Your advice is frequently wrong and potentially dangerous.Beware the character seeking personal gain masquerading as a moral crusader.

That it does, but giving clinical advice when not qualified to do so is dangerous and could lead to legal issues for the poster and MSE team.Beware the character seeking personal gain masquerading as a moral crusader.

i think you might find that a list of symptoms accompanied by directions like "go to A&E" or "go to a pharmacy" doesn't constitute medical advice. Medical advice would be more along the lines of "you've got conjunctivitis so go to your chemist and ask for chloramphenicol" or, "you've detached your retina, you're going to go blind".
The advice I gave above is on a par with the advice given on the NHS24 website, you go through the symptoms checker the advice I gave is almost dead on (except the bit about the pharmacies list of questions but I know that exists because I use it often enough).0 -
Realsitically - what is an A & E department going to know about eyes?
If you had any knowledge/qualification you'd know the answer to that.Beware the character seeking personal gain masquerading as a moral crusader.

refer to opthalmology! They tend to both be located within these buildings called hospitals. Doctors all do the same basic training before specialising and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out what department someone with a black spots and pain in their eye should go to.
What is your problem anyway? Are you just bitter because you're an independent DO/optom who's losing money because people like me advocate actually shopping around and choosing glasses that fit/that you like or do you just enjoy finding random posters and jumping on them at stupid times of the night making snap judgments about qualifications you know nothing about?0 -
on saying that 2 of my local hospitals actually have an emergency clinic for eye problems that you don't need referred to, though unless you knew they were there you'd get sent there by staff at..................................you guessed it A&E!0
