My daughter is getting married next year and is trying to decide what type of decorative vase to have on the tables. She likes the bubble vases with the candle insert but we're worried they may be a bit small.

We have seen larger ones than this but they are quite expensive. We were wondering what everyone else has had that looks nice but isn't costly.

Can you find them used, buy them from another bride? Then you can sell on after the wedding. Or rent them?
I am using flowers. I think I am spending more then you would like. However you could do one of my CP for less if you DIY. If you do branches with hanging candles. Look in my bio. http://ukpabride.weebly.com/decor-and-inspiration.html0 -
Hi there,
Not married yet - getting married next year but we are having these:
Can't post links as I'm a new user. They are called Blomster candle holders from IKEA. Go onto the IKEA wesbite and search candle holder - you will see them immediately - 14.99
With rose petals around the base. I think that plus favour boxes and menus and table name will be enough as you don't want the table to be too cluttered.
If you like the idea of candles and flowers mixed then the above look nice with tiny vases with a big flower head in then look stunning. We are on a bugdet and so are not having the extra expense of the flowers.
HTH
ps. Let me know if you like the candle holders and we can share the cost.....:DLBM: 26 July 2010

I have no idea how much they were, but my sister had glass 'fish bowls' filled with white roses and various greenery and fairy lights threaded through. They looked amazing but were probably very expensive!"A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge." - Tyrion LannisterMarried my best friend 1st November 2014Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")0

We're not having 'centrepieces' as such as we're having a large rectangular table for everyone, but we're just having vases with fresh flowers in them down the table!
The vases were reduced to a quid each in Tesco and the flowers will be bought from Asda the day before the wedding.Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
A couple of lanterns in the sale too:
http://www.dunelm-mill.com/shop/casablanca-lantern-107389 - Only 49p small up to £1.99 large!
http://www.dunelm-mill.com/shop/wooden-lantern-with-metal-decoration-107388 2.99
My venue will lend us small vases, tealight holders and mirror plates for nothing, so I'm just getting candles and flowers too.0 -
Thanks everyone for your replies. I'll show your ideas to my daughter and see what she thinks. Im glad she's quite keen to sort the wedding out for herself because I think I would get quite stressed if I had to do it for her! Im quite happy to be on the sidelines with just the occasional bit of input!0
