i think we went there on a sunday and you do need to get there early, and i mean early, some people had been turning up since 11 pm the night before, we were told to arrive between 4 am and 7 am to ensure we got a pitch which was ten pounds about two/ three years ago so i guess it may be a little more now, palmaddie is also a good carboot sale to check out0

The boot is only on Sundays. If it is a nice weekend, dry both Saturday and Sunday the last pitch will go before 7am. The queue starts before midnight. It seems to be less busy if it rains on a Saturday. There were empty pitches last Sunday and that was because it was raining during the night. For more info

When I went in Spring we got there about 4am and there was already a big queue but we got in. I think our outdoor pitch was £13. I'm going up to inverurie (Aberdeen) to do one on Sunday so hope the weather is good for us both!0

I did Blochairn a couple of years ago, I got there by about 5am and was sat in a queue to get in. By the time we got to the front of the queue all the outdoor pitches were gone so we ended up with an indoor pitch which cost me £12. It was the first time I had done a car boot, so I would say I did ok, not a massive amount made but more space in my house! Things that seemed to sell on my pitch were educational stuff for kids, character toys, baby stuff and unusual kids clothing like leotards, large kids books. Basic kids clothes didn't sell very well at all and neither did soft toys or my DD's Barbie bike. Stuff that I didn't sell I took to the charity shop. Don't know about the cost of pasting tables, my friend had one we used. Worth buying one if you were going to do boot sales semi regularly.
I had quite a few people racing round the stalls just specifically asking for certain items, maybe they were collectors.
Just keep your wits about you, make sure your car is locked and take a friend with you. Hope you get on ok and make a few quid!0 -
thanks for this thread, im looking to do a carboot here soon and was unsure just how early you had to be0
