Hi Jelly, great to have you drop in! If part of your shopping bill is cleaning products there are loads of threads on reducing the number of products you need to buy. Do a search on STARDROPS and that will give you a good place to start. We have a daily thread erm.... daily.. LOL to drop into and chat about what we plan for the day, feel free to have a nose around/ contribute there too.

  • Hello. I'm also a newbie, and feeling my way gradually through OS moneysaving (although I've been almost FLYing for a bit, so do some of it anyway). Getting a bit overwhelmed though .... I seem to be both time-poor and cash-poor. How can that be right??

Hi everyone, thanks so much for the warm welcome and more importantly all the fantastic tips! My head's spinning at the moment (I got the money diet book from the library - need I say more?!!). Think I'm going to stick to tackling food spend at the moment and check over all the threads you guys have recommended. Hubby has gone into hiding (he smokes and knows what I'm going to tackle next:))
  • Hiya

Lovely to meet you:D Your shopping bill sounded like mine 18 months ago and we now spend about £35 pw for 3 people including everything and we eat and live very well.

I would suggest making a list of food you already have in...cupboards, freezer, fridge etc...you will be amazed and will probably have enough for quite a few meals without spending a penny;)
