Orthodontist, any way to get insurance to pay for it?

Hi Folks,
This is probably an odd question, but I figured I would ask it. I had braces about 20 years ago and up until about a year ago had reasonably perfect teeth with just a bit of a funny join with my two front bottom teeth.
Lately I've noticed the bottom two front teeth seem to be overlapping and I'm now concerned now that it's only a matter of time before they move one in front of each other and I'm doomed to a world of snaggle tooth. I have dental insurance through work but that doesn't cover orthodontic work. I also have private medical insurance though and was wondering if there was a possibility this could be used? The only thing that has really changed in the past few months is I've been under tremendous stress (renovating a house, two kids under 4 and a husband who has been laid off/off sick) so I've been grinding my teeth like a mad person which has caused headaches/jaw pain but no idea if it can cause tooth movement.
I've had the medical insurance for 10 years but never claimed on it and don't have 3000£ to spend on braces so was wondering if it might help out?
I'm worried now because I reckon if I don't do something about my bottom teeth in the next few months it could go seriously wrong.
Thanks,
BatCat

Just a quick one - normally ortho can't be paid for on insurance. Sounds like you may have something else with the grinding though. Seenthe jaw thread and speak to your dentist :-)
