Missing Giros Help

Apologies foe the long post but here goes...

I made a claim to csa about 10 years ago which proved to be totally pointless, they kept sending me letters teasing me telling me how much the nrp had to pay me but never received a penny

Fast forward to this month when i needed to speak to child benefits i get paid direct into bank so when going through security i realised they didn't have my up to date address

Two weeks later i receive a giro out of the blue no covering letter just a return address on back of envelope which when googled said csa...imagine my shock, i give them a ring and they tell me that ex has had deduction from earnings applied since jan this year

i moved house last year but only had mail redirected for 6 months i presume my new address filtered over to csa from child benefit people

Anyway they tell me that they have been sending out giros, not too sure why as i'm positive i supplied bank details, they tell me they need to put a trace on all the giros and then get the reissued happy days sounds simple and straightforward enough.........

UNTIL today when a finance officer called from Falkirk, she said that they have had some details back from girobank but still waiting on some of them as they are not out of date yet and that she cannot tell me at this stage anything further only that the investigation is ongoing she was very evasive on the subject though

I have a horrible sinking feeling that the giros have been presented for payment...deffo not by me i might add

Has anybody else had any experience of this i have read that they are not obliged to reissue giros, does that mean that they may say it's my fault for not updating my address with them?? Surely it's fraud if somebody else has presented them for payment, i had to pay the one that i received into my bank account as it was crossed so couldn't be paid at post office....i feel sick now
