The Audience Club

Hi all,

I have just stumbled across a website for The Audience Club http://www.theaudienceclub.com/index.php which offers theatre tickets for £2 each if you pay £25 a year. :T

It sounds a bit too good to be true, I was wondering if anyone has tried it and how they found it??? Would really appreciate some advice before spending my money :rotfl:

Thanks

Looks like it is only for London theatres - so not a lot of help for the rest of the country.

'Provincial' (awful word) theatre is very good, and needs all the support it can get at present, with loads of cuts looming - but it always seems to be London theatre that gets the main deals and promotions...
  • Just wanted to let you know that I did join this club and after a few months I can really recommend it. (Having said that, I live in London and that definitely helps!) I've been to some amazing shows, mostly theatre and some comedy, and they even occasionally have concerts on there too. It's well worth the joining/admin fees. :j
  • Hi, may I ask this question?

I would like to join this club, but it sounds too good to be true. I am worried that every time tickets are available on their website, the number of people who want to get tickets will be much higher than the tickets themselves. So it is likely that you will not be able to buy tickets.

    Is this the case?

    Thank you
  • Hi fantasyvn

I know what you mean :) but I have booked to see quite a few things through the site now and have never had a problem like that.

Twice I've wanted to see things that were fully booked, but they operate a waiting list and both times I've been contacted to say more tickets were available and have been able to go.

    Hope that helps :o
  • Thank you very much. I will join the club.
  • Hi,

I just wanted to say I am a member too and it is a fantastic website which enables you to see things you really want to see as well as be able to afford to take the chance and see things you perhaps weren't sure about going to see. It is mainly off West End stuff but that doesn't mean the quality is less than the West End, it just means you might not have heard of the venue or cast. They do also get some of the big West End shows which is always a treat.

You will need to check their site regularly but you'll soon get into the habit of it and they send regular emails telling you what has gone on the site to remind you.

I think it is well worth joining and hope you enjoy being a member as I know I do. :T
  • Hi,

Just wondering if anyone else has any more feedback on this?
Does it have more tickets come through than showfilmfirst? or if the audience club get it will show film first also have it for free?

Oh, I wish this wasn't just in London!
  • I have a friend who is a member & often invites me along when she gets tickets. There is a good mix of plays, comedy, music gigs, musicals etc, more London "fringe" venues but there is the odd West End show.
To take full advantage you have to be within easy reach of London, be able to book at quite short notice & check the website regularly. Obviously the most popular shows get snapped up fast, but as the above poster says you can go on a waiting list if you miss out first time. My friend seems to get to most of the ones she fancies.
Viewed as a long term project, I'm sure it is worth it over the course of a year's membership.
There is some crossover with Show Film First but not always. AC gets a lot more shows.
One other thing, you usually have to be at the venue an hour beforehand to collect your tickets.
