hi, I have read some of the forum entries here about debts that have been cancelled because they are over six years old and no contact has been made. I would like to know if this is true for fines? I have contacted the courts that cover the area I live in and there is no outstanding warrens for me which i presume there would be if there were any.

Depends what you're calling a fine, can you give us some more detail?
I refuse to be afraid of the big bad wolf, spiders, or debt collection agencies; one of them's not real and the other two are powerless without my fear.
(Ok, one of them is powerless, spiders can be nasty.)

As of the last count I have cleared
    [STRIKE]23.16%[/STRIKE] 22.49% of my debt. :(

No , it isnt , Government debts do not become statue barred
  • ok thanks, it was after a conditional discharge for a court hearing I was fined £60.. I'm sure i did pay it but not 100% sure as it was over 20 years ago. I would have thought that if I hadn't there would be a outstanding warrant for me is that correct?

Its either paid, or they do not care about it anymore. So do not worry.

Wow £60 back then must have been a fair bit of money ;)

There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies
