Lawnmower cutting grass 'long'
Hi,
Not sure if this is the correct thread but I need help with my lawnmower.
I have been given a Flymo from a friend and, although it does a great job it seems to cut my grass very high from the soil.
When I look at the neighbours they all have lawns like a bowling green whilst mine looks like its in constant need of a trim!
Is there any way I can lower it so it cuts the grass shorter? I have no paperwork as it is secondhand,

You can adjust the height of the blades, but on my basic model there are only 2 heights to choose from. What model flymo is it - maybe someone on here has the instructions and can have a look for you.

Normally adjusting the height on a hover mower means adding a spacer (plastic disk) between the blade and the mount - you can often buy these spacers in DIY sheds on their spares counter.Adventure before Dementia!0

Get yourself a Spears & Jackson and you will have a bowling green lawn!
I don't rate Flymos at all. Had a Qualcast before my S&J and that was quite good too although the S&J cuts all heights, never clogs and I mow my 30' X 20' lawn in 8 minutes with all cut grass picked up in the bag.0
