i dont think that will work as she has nothing to bargain with, once you have paid the debt down a few months you will be in a much stronger position.

Also you will be able to transfer some money onto the cheaper card, or you couild use that scenario to request a lower rate for a few months, with the threat of transferring to a competitor
  • I did get Virgin down a little bit - from 26.69% to 19.9%, but Halifax wont budge!!

Whats funny is that they keep increasing my credit limit on the cards, even though the same banks as the cards i with wont lend me any money at a lower rate to pay it off!!?!?!?!?!

Never mind.... i'll do what i can for the time being and keep paying as much as i can in.
Thanks for eveyones help and advice!

Speak to the bank about what rate they could give you on re-extending a fee-free overdraft. The fact that you paid it off before will go in your favour. Try setting yourself a challenge, how much you want to overpay by each much, even though your challenging yourself and could easily cheat you'll be amazed as to how competitive the little people running your brain can be!!!

if one card has a lower % rate than the other, would it not be worth you transferring som of the debt over to the lower % rate?
smile --- it makes people wonder what you are up to.... ;)
  • It would...if i could,

Im up to the limit on that card!!

I'm hoping to pay some more off one card today, and i get paid next week so i cant get some of then!!

Hopefully, in a few months i'll be in a better position to try and do something about it.

Started making my christmas presents last night - i know its early.... im painting jars to make vases! he he
