Cabot financial - so rude!!

Is there anything I can do re Cabot Financial continually harrassing me. My husband had a credit card with Citi Financial - which is now in the hands of Cabot. He has paid the stipulated amount of £30 or more depending on our financial situation. He is at the moment away working in Europe but Cabot continually phone at all hours of the day (even 10pm at night) asking for him - I tell them he is away and when I expect him back - their reply is - we will call him then.
This has been going on for 2 years.
Last night I got a call from a very polite young man from Cabot - I told him my husband was away and he said he would write to him and put a note up that all calls should be stopped until he returns (i gave him a date)
This morning a VERY RUDE young lady called and I again said he is away and relayed my discussion with the POLITE young man and she replied that a letter had been sent but the note was not put on his file as "we are always told things when we try to contact him" When i enquired of these "things" she said that they are always told he is away (which is the truth as he works in Europe) I challenged her on this asking if she thought I was lying and she said no but "things are always told to them and the dates change"
I went on explaining that he is on assignment and yes the dates get moved as and when the job is complete and should she like proof of this I could send it (was I stupid?)
She has now said I should send her this proof of him working away (I have copies of flights in and out the country and emails from his employer alternating dates of completion of jobs) and continued to be very rude and intimidating to me.
Should I send her this information (deleting of cos his employers name as it is confidential) or is this a breach of his rights?
I am fed up with phone calls at all hours and as early as 7.30am when I have worked up until 12 midnight!
Also I have noticed people asking for CCA - if you have been paying this account surely you cannot now dispute that it is yours?
Sorry for all this but I am nearing the end of my patience

Here you go - I got this from Niddy's thread (some really good template letters there), you might need to change it slightly for your positions but the gist is there
Dear Sirs,
Account No: XXXXXXXX
I am writing in relation to the quantity and frequency of telephone calls that I have received from your company, which I deem to be personally harassing. I have verbally requested that these stop, but I am still receiving calls and I now require all further correspondence from your company to be made in writing only. I am of the view that your continued harassment of me by telephone puts you in breach of Section 40 of the Administration of Justice Act 1970, and the Protection from Harassment Act 1997.
If you continue to harass me by telephone, you will also be in breach of the Communications Act (2003) s.127 and I will report you to OFCOM, Trading Standards and The Office of Fair Trading, meaning that you will be liable to a substantial fine. Be advised that any further telephone calls from your company may be recorded and used in evidence and I expect this harassment to cease immediately.
Yours faithfully

I don't really get why they are calling you. Are you behind with any payments or do you owe them anything?
If not go with Sunnylooloo's advice and write them the letter. Otherwise if they continue to phone just do your best Manuel form Fawlty Towers impression 'I know narrthingg." in your best Spanish accent.0 -
Yes @short changed - we do owe them but religiously pay each and every month so what they are after I have no idea - am waiting on the postman cos according to this rude lady the letter was sent out last night "and should be with you today" !!!!
Thanks for the letter - I will get down to it immediately, just one question should I add in the letter that my husband is away and do i sign if on his behalf?
I am concerned that because he works away they might demand full payment of this debt but he is employed by a UK company so dont see how his place of work should affect this
Thanks for all the advice - greatly appreciated0 -

Well as long as you are paying on time and the correct amount I really don't see why they are harrassing you.0 -
Don't sign it at all - just type his name.
You have told them on the phone he is abroad so no need to say anything else. From now on you only contact them in writing (never sign just tyep his name) and it will be sorted.
If you are making an effort to pay something each month it is highly unlikely they will demand full payment and even if they do just keep paying what you are paying. You def do not need to send any of his travel arrangements etc......
Do you have caller ID on your phone as I would ignore these calls in future.
Also send the letter recorded or registered (sorry not sure which but it is the one that you have proof of posting and they need to sign for it the other end)
Good luck and I hope this stops the calls for youThe worst cliques are those which consist of one man ~ George Bernard Shaw

have you ever asked what they actually want?
Yes @ Arby - I always ask if I can perhaps help them stating that I am his wife and I am told no that I cannot.
I have often stated days and amounts when payments have been made if they are perhaps querying them to which I get a reply ..... sorry we cannot discuss this account with you.
Mad or what? lol0 -
Well once you ask them to only contact you in writing maybe you will finally find out
