Does temporary work count towards service if the role became permanent?

The CAB would be the better place to get advice from than me - do you have Legal Expenses or Family Legal Protection on your home insurance? If you do they will give you free advice over the telephone and will also handle a claim against your employers if that is the way to go.

Baring the above disclaimer - I would say that temp work through an agency would not count as part of your continuous service as you were not an employee of the company at the time but an employee of the agency.

From the letters you state you have received then it would sound as if the letter on the 22nd was the formal notice of redundancy though it seems a rather short period given the wording about finding alternative employement by the 30 June. Are you sure they didnt send another letter to you that you may not have received?

To say that you have to have your forms in by tomorrow you seem very unsure of your case.

Why do you think that you were unfairly selected for redundancy?

Have you actually asked your ex employer about your dates of notice, whether you were paid for garden leave etc?

Did you exhaust the grievance procedure at work?

These are all things that the Tribunal will ask.
    Gone ... or have I?
  • Have you tried ACAS?

    Hi Nice Englishman

    Thanks for the advice.

I don't know why I didn't think to ask ACAS as I have been in contact with them a few times over the redundancy but that was at the start of the process.
They're not unhelpful but I think they sometimes find it difficult to answer some questions because they aren't allowed to actually advise you.

Rather ironic as they are the Advisory, Conciliation and Arbritation Service!

Well I've submitted my claim now so ACAS will receive a copy from the Employment Tribunal and will get involved now anyway.
