High IOP - Glaucoma?
Comments

Ah our "at risk" criteria is only based on family history. I think if the OP is on drops then he's obviously receiving treatment from somewhere, if this is the opthalmology department at a hospital then he is already being monitored so doesn't need monitored at a sight test (so no free test), I know that we have patients who are "referred from hospital" on one year recalls when they have been discharged from opthalmology but never do a one year recall if they are still under the hospital.0

Thanks everyone - I've booked an eye test for Saturday. I've been on Xalatan drops for Glaucoma (to reduce the pressure) for over a year. I don't have to go back to the consultant till December, so we'll see what the optician says. Would they lose money if I didn't have to pay for an eye test or would they be completely refunded?0

No if you don't pay for your eye test you'll be asked to complete a GOS 1 form before the sight test and the optician would claim the money back from the local health board using that.0

What area are you in? Let us know how you get on.Beware the character seeking personal gain masquerading as a moral crusader.

A Quick Update
Yes I AM now entitled to free eye tests....the pressure in one eye is elevated a bit at 19, but it's still within OK limits thank goodness.
Thanks for all your replies.0
