What happened to Poundland?

I have been to quite a lot of Poundlands but has anybody noticed in their local Poundlands many of the items are representing less value for money than they used to?
For example, I remember a couple of years ago they used to do multipack 12 bottles of Gatorade for £1 (now its 2 bottles for £1) and the DVD and Games selection used to be pretty decent. Now all the DVD's seem to be low budget music biography or old Westerns or general low budget films that are worth no more than a pound.
They still have a couple of ok things in there now and then but most of the time I go in its the same stuff as they had 6 months ago.
What happened to the day where you used to be able to get a lot of good stuff at Poundland?

Oh yeah so all of their good stuff they used to get just vanishes because the 'economy collapsed'... Good logic right there.0

It is good logic. Poundland import a lot of their goods, the UK economic difficulties caused the £ to tumble against a lot of other currencies causing the goods they import to become more expensive.0 -
But the 99p store still get a lot of good stuff? so do Home Bargains?
I don't see any change there...0 -
I agree that 99p store does some good bargains, but I think it's just pot luck what you find in each store. Having said that, I don't look so much at the food and drink as I used to.0
