Better off in work calculation

Ive been on income support as a lone parent since my previous employer couldnt offer me p/t hours i now have a job (no thanks to the job centre who im sure dont want single parents to work/ or think we dont wanna work so offer them no support!) interview for Friday...

Anyway ive heard there is an online calculator to see how much better off you are in work-could anyone please tell me the link? Im not bothered even if i end up poorer as long as im working lol!!

    www.entitledto.co.uk is probably the website.

I just wanted to say though it is refreshing to see such a positive attitude towards working rather than depending on the state.
The Googlewhacker referance is to Dave Gorman and not to my opinion of the search engine!

If I give you advice it is only a view and always always take professional advice before acting!!!

4 people on the ignore list....Bliss!

Might it be better to pour your energies over the next couple of days into honing your interview skills. The time to worry about better/worse off is AFTER you've got the job offer, don't be distracted by that just now.

    Fingers crossed for you.
Seen it all, done it all, can't remember most of it.

  • How long have to been on income support, you could be entitled to things such as a job grant, housing and council tax benefit run on and in work credits.

Your JobCentre Plus advisor can also do a 'Better Off In Work Calculation' with you. In fact, its now required as part of new benefit claims.
