Barclayard/DMP Help please

I am setting DMP. The problem I'm having with Barclays is they seem not to fully understand what I am trying to explain.
This is my first month dealing with my debts and have made a £25 Payment as a token while I get things sorted. I rang them in advance and explained what I was doing.
I can't complain about how I'm being spoken to but they seem to read from a script and just keep saying ask my Debt Advisor to contact them. I keep explaining I'm handling it myself. I have spoken to 2 people there and keep getting the same response! I am finding this very frustrating.
Also how can I get them to stop ringing me 3-4 times a week asking me for payment? When I have responded to the call I tell them I am setting up DMP, have made a payment and will contact them by the end of the month with an ongoing offer, they acknowledge this is all on my notes and then repeat please ask your debt management agency to call, and that this is the proceedure I rang them initially and made my first reduced payment on 10th August.
Has anyone had a similar problem? I'm now shooting through the ceiling everytime my phone rings. All I want is to speak to someone there who seems to be able to respond to my queries in a way that leaves me feeling confident they understand whats going on
Any advice please
Thanks

Hi there stick with it just send them your offer for now and also a full SOA with an offer letter have you got other creditors you make payments to I had this problem with Barclays they try to get you on DMP but you can negotiate yourself only pay what you can afford there is Template letter on here about the telephone calls tell them you will only deal with them in writing but someone will no doubt help you further on here
They will eventually stop interest and charges and accept your proposals its just a hard slog at first
Good Luck0 -
I know it is frustrating when they do this but the only way to get around this is to respond to them in writing and only in writing. If they call just say that you have written to them explaining your circumstances and that you are not able to discuss it over the telephone, then politely say goodbye and hang up. If they keep calling try and ignore them. These people are just being arrogant and awkward to try and scare/ upset you so much that you will pay them, so they will get their end of month bonus.
You could also try sending them the letter below to stop the random phone calls, hopefully that should do the trick.
Dear Sirs,
Account No: XXXXXXXX
I am writing in relation to the quantity and frequency of telephone calls that I have received from your company, which I deem to be personally harassing. I have verbally requested that these stop, but I am still receiving calls and I now require all further correspondence from your company to be made in writing only. I am of the view that your continued harassment of me by telephone puts you in breach of Section 40 of the Administration of Justice Act 1970, and the Protection from Harassment Act 1997.
If you continue to harass me by telephone, you will also be in breach of the Communications Act (2003) s.127 and I will report you to OFCOM, Trading Standards and The Office of Fair Trading, meaning that you will be liable to a substantial fine. Be advised that any further telephone calls from your company may be recorded and used in evidence and I expect this harassment to cease immediately.
Yours faithfully
