Sides of cooker - help with cleaning

Options
Shifting some stuff in out kitchen tonight I have discovered total grossness all the way down my free-standing cooker and cupboards either side. Only stupendous scrubbing got rid of the fat (?) off a tiny area. Please help! What can I use to make this easier? I have tried vinegar and bicarb, but it shifted little - I think my scourer did the hard work...

I love your ... erm name, no idea what the technical word is. I wish I could be Mrs Excellent Example. But that would be lying.

I do not recognise Vim. Do I need to call that little man?

A steam cleaner will zap that gunge. Even a hand held one would be good. Woolworths stock a couple of models.

I always use a brillo pad for this. It seems the most effective for the least effort.

I think Vim is something they used in the olden days. :D
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.
