debt

Hi all , i have debts with debt companies , moorcroft , wescott and fredrickson , im trying to pay as requested but have just lost my job . Any ideas on how to go about offering payment etc as i really wanted to stick to what i agreed with them even though they i guess bullied me into paying what i am paying .
Any help would be much appreciated !!

If you have lost your job it is more important to keep up to date with rent, electric, food etc.

Go to the national debtline website http://www.nationaldebtline.co.uk/england_wales/debt_advice.php#3 and look at their sample letters section.

Write an 'ask your creditors to accept a token payment' letter to each of them and if you can afford it send them each £1.

Alternatively send the 'ask your creditors to hold action on your account' letter and go and speak with CAB / National Debtline / CCCS (there is a sticky at the top of this forum 'who to contact for impartial advice' - look there for phone numbers etc - these people will not charge you)

Write an 'ask your creditors to accept a token payment' letter to each of them and if you can afford it send them each £1.

Dont ask them to accept, tell them you can only afford a token payment of £1 a month due to your circumstances and explain lost job etc. Then start paying that immediately, dont wait for them to respond and keep paying it regardless if they say its not acceptable etc and dont miss any payments.

When you get a new job, update them all and start paying a more normal contribution.
