    Hi there everyone

Still doing ok with sticking to my envelopes:j

    £1 paper
60p parking to pick up my little girl
£2 on postage (ordered crocs in adult size 8 rather than kids size 8:eek:!) Did have a little moan to the lady as it really wasn't clear on the website
£2 for school bits for DS
£2 on veg for tonight and sausages for the kids and a little treat for me....

Feeling good about it and have encountered no weird things that I will have to pay for.....,yet!:D

Thanks for your thoughts Beatthedebt! I feel good doing it so I reckon I will just keep going and hopefully entertain a little on the way!!

I am the same, a real get £20 out needing £2 and the end of the week I have nothing left and no real idea of where it all went.....

Ah the joys of trying to figure out where it all goes.... that is my aim!!

Tired today, slept in so I have felt like I was catching up all day and have a headache as well....

Spending ok today but DS needed some school bits so that added... So spends are

    £3 lunch
    £7 school bits
    £3 ice cream for pud

These little records do really help me realise how much I fritter away every day on just little bits, but it is already so much better than it was.

Plans for the rest of this month

    - Go through house and list things on ebay once I have done a little stock take
    - Have a look at children's toys and get those together for listing nearer Christmastime
    - List books that I have read and don't want anymore on Amazon
    - Look at tax return to make sure all deductions claimed

I have been meaning to do these things for ages so hopefully this diary should keep me on track!

    Hi there all

Feeling a lot better today even though it is raining cats and dogs here! Having a chilli for dinner which always makes me feel better...:)

I haven't done too badly today on the spending

    £3 lunch
    £1 paper
£2 guacamole for dinner (had to with the chilli)

I had a big debate about whether to make or buy the guacamole but decide it was probably cheaper to buy as avocados are well expensive and I would have needed coriander as well.

Very excited about my supper - can you tell?:D

Have been trying to decide whether to buy a slow cooker or not - has anyone any thoughts. I have seen very mixed reports on here, some people love it and some don't get on with it at all....

    Any info welcome!

    Hi there everyone

Well I have managed to get to the weekend without going over my spend and have £20 left out of my 'other' budget so am very pleased with myself. Got some good offers at Superdrug on things we needed and just been out to a free day out with the kids so children are happy as well.

Haven't progressed my list yet so need to get on with that on ebay. Just heard that it is a free listings weekend so might be a good time to get on and list some items, will try to tomorrow... too tired tonight.

    That's all folks!

Well I thought it was all going so well and then I started to see what was left for my last week before we get paid (next week) and I just don't have enough left to cover us unless I manage to save a fortune this week. Ready to give up a bit, I had been so high thinking I was doing so well. Partly I think my budget was wrong and there have been loads of random things to pay for this month - all school clubs and swimming fees due and all the rest. But every month there is something isn't there! The envelopes just don't cover everything which is v depressing.....

We have done a lot better with credit cards so that should make a real difference to what we have left over next month. This should help but I will have to really keep at it. Why is it never easy to do these things. Was going to get new glasses in October but I think I will leave it a month as it's going to be a big bill for the pair I want - they are soooo expensive.

So no paper bought today, read one at work. Did have lunch at work but will try to take in a lunch later in the week to help try to make the cash last for a week and a half.

Wish me luck, not sure I will be able to last until the end of the month without spending on the credit card..:(

  • Hi Sj,

Don't give up hun. It's just a case of trying things to see what works, you might find that next month will be different.

    Remember baby steps. x

    Thanks Purpletea

We should be better off next month so it has all made a big difference. We usually have very little left after paying for credit cards and next month I have worked out that we will have quite a bit left. It's just tough keeping the reins on it as there are loads of things I can do without but which would be nice and once I get down about money I seem to want to reach for the card.

Sad but true. You are right about the baby steps.:)

Feel better today but it's all going to be just a bit too tight...
