I've used them a few times to order books and I've sold about 4. I find it's good because you do get a good price for your books but it depends on your books because I've only sold 4 in about 6 months so if it's a quick return you're after then you can pretty much forget it.

They do stress in their rules that books with a lot of writing inside covers and that are very creased aren't suitable for selling on there but the last book I received was in quite a state tbh. I'm sure it was just bad luck but it did take about 3 weeks to come too.

I've still got some books on there and will order from them again I'm sure but it's not really the same thing as ebay or Amazon.

  • I've had a couple of dozen books listed on GM for months and months and not sold anything yet. If your book is a popular one there will be a lot of others up for sale too, you have to wait till yours comes to the top of the heap to be shown when the buyer looks for that title.
If you see my signature you'll see that I am a little biased maybe!
  • Sorry off topic, but seeing Apprentice Tycoon's post here has reminded me that it was an article by her about selling books on Amazon which led me to MSE 9 months ago. So thanks AT :A
  • Thanks for the information. Thought I might give it a try as well as ebay and Amazon! So many books....
  • I registered last year and sold one book fairly quickly. This week I've sold 2!!
I think it depends on how popular and recent your books are.

  • Hi everyone :hello:

I'm looking for a particular website which someone mentioned once in here. Unfortunately I've lost the link and can't find the thread/post anywhere.

I can't remember the name of it but it's basically a website where you buy and sell used books at fixed rates (all paperbacks are sold for £3 and bought for £3.75, for example)

Does it sound fmailiar to anybody? I'm really desperate to find it!

    Thanks in advance, Mel xx
