Please help! Can I stop a creditor calling me at work?

Hi, I have just started a DMP but one of my creditors (Santander) won't stop ringing me. They have rung me at work 3 times now and it's very embarassing and awkward as I work in a school so don't have a direct line and calls go straight through to the admin staff. Is there any way I can make them stop calling me at work?

Hi
Absolutely they should not be calling you at work if you ask them not to and they know this.
Send them the letter below.
If the calls continue then let us all know
SNV
Dear Sirs,
Account No: XXXXXXXX
I am writing in relation to the quantity and frequency of telephone calls that I have received from your company, which I deem to be personally harassing. I have verbally requested that these stop, but I am still receiving calls and I now require all further correspondence from your company to be made in writing only. I am of the view that your continued harassment of me by telephone puts you in breach of Section 40 of the Administration of Justice Act 1970, and the Protection from Harassment Act 1997.
If you continue to harass me by telephone, you will also be in breach of the Communications Act (2003) s.127 and I will report you to OFCOM, Trading Standards and The Office of Fair Trading, meaning that you will be liable to a substantial fine. Be advised that any further telephone calls from your company may be recorded and used in evidence and I expect this harassment to cease immediately.
Yours faithfully

As Saltnvinegar says - send that letter and tell them if you get called before they recieve the letter that you are not allowed to take personal calls whatsoever at work.

Thank you for all the advice. I have spoken to them over the phone and they have assured me they have taken the number off their records so I shall follow up with that letter if I receive any more calls at work.0

HI, can anyone please help ! MY sons has a small debt with Capital ONE, Firstly, he wrote to them under a SAR which they then replied they couldnt send him the details requested because he had not signed the letter. I have read on here that he doesnt have to sign. He also wrote to them with the above template letter as they were hassling him constantly by phone. he sent it recorded delivery, they then sent him another letter saying they had been trying to contact him by phone AND WOULD CONTINUE TO DO SO. He has just called me form work very upset because they have now started calling him at work. He works in financial services so this is VERY embarrassing for him and distressing too as he just doesnt have the money to pay them off. He has told them he will answer every letter if they write to him but they still keep bullying him. How can we stop this quickly before his business becomes everyone's business ?? I know that they know they shouldnt be doing it,, but they really dont seem to give a stuff. he has quoted the Communications Act and threatened to report them to the FSA and OFT etc but still it keeps on several times a week and now at his work place. They REFUSED point blank to take his numbers off their system. Please help im worried sick for him.
Thank you0 -
