Where is Reasonable to buy Soya Custard. Its 99p for a very small carton at our Supermarket, would need two at least. Is it as good as they say, difficult if you cannot have dairy.

The alpro one is better. But I make my own from custard powder, soya milk and sugar. Or even with cornflour, vanilla (or some other flavour), soya milk and sugar (+ colouring if you don't want it to be white).
If you use use unsweetened soya milk you might need to be a bit more generous with the sugar to get it to the usual sweetness. The best portion of your life will be the small, nameless moments you spend smiling with someone who matters to you.0 -
Thanks for that, will check that the custard powder does not contain dairy then give it a try.0

Yes, I would go the make-it-yourself route too. But try using rice milk instead of soya milk. I find it doesn't have that bitter 'tang' that some soya milks have. It's also great on cereal, by the way.

Or try oat milk. I prefer this to soya and rice milk and use it to make sauces or in cooking for all the family rather than doing separate meals for myself. Nobody seems to notice. Think the custard is about 87p in Tescos and Morrisons but they don't always have it in.Second purse £101/100

I make my own from Tesco or Sainsbury value soya milk, cornflour and a nice vanilla essence, and it's yummy
A balloon whisk is the best way I've found of mixing to make sure there are no lumps. 0
