Microsoft Money

I don't know if this is the right place to post, though if it isn't then i'm sure a mod will be kind enough to move it.

For those of you who used to love using Microsoft Money and we're disappointed that they discontinued the product, and you lost your disk or couldn't afford a new one like me then I may have a bit of good news (if it's not been posted already - though I cannot find it).

Microsoft have released a free version onto the internet a couple of months ago called Money Plus Sunset Deluxe! (Unfortunately I cannot post a direct link as I'm a newbie - been through many names on here though (Nothing Naughty Honest) so just google it and it will appear.)

It doesn't have the ability to connect to your bank though apparently you can still download statements and import them.

Ahh Money - Oh How I've Missed You These Last Three Years.

How good to see that. Thank you :j

I have MS Money which came with my PC and I dreaded the day my PC died and I lost this software. I use it constantly but not using any online connections, just on my PC.

Has anyone downloaded it yet and if so, how do you find it? Think I will stick with what I have until I need to look to replace it but nice to know how people are finding this free version.
Thank you for this site :jNow OH and I are both retired, MSE is a Godsend

I downloaded and installed it but it wouldn't import my existing money files.

So it would be OK if you want to start from scratch but I have 11 years records to import.

I personally haven't got any files to transfer so for me it's perfect.

Boy Have I Missed It And I Am So Glad I've Got It Back For Free!!!

Thanks bubblesbrian - I lost 5 years of data when my old computer died. I have used Moneydance for the last year or so but it is not as good as microsoft money - will download later on and have a look at it.

It's free. It's American, though mines set up in GBP. There's some details that are a bit niggly like the categories are American based, though I can live with that and work around it with no problems.

I happened across it on a website last night and thought NO WAY thats not right. So I went to the Microsoft website and there it was.
  • Thanks for that, thats useful to know. Our old computer broke and I was devastated as had microsoft money all set up and running nicely, luckily clever OH was able to ressurect the computer for long enough for me to be able to save all my info on to a memory stick, then I managed to find the microsoft money disk and import it all over to laptop. Was dreading trying to rebuild everything from scratch!
