Hi,
Couldn't find where to put this question, so put it were i post most often
We have had post on Sunday's twice now. We believed it was due to a mis delivery and a neighbour posting it round. Was about to ring royal mail and remembered we had CCTV. Royal mail have been delivering to our house on Sunday.
I know they stopped this a few years ago, and can't find any news information to say they started it again. Has anyone else started to have post delivery on Sunday?
Jon

Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.

Strange, If I can catch my postie tomorrow I will ask if he knows anything about it. Posties generally work unsupervised. I know of one case where for over a year, one postie only delivered once a week. The rest of the time she stored bags of mail in her house until she could dispose of them. It was only when several half burned bags were found she was caught. Maybe your postie is taking Saturdays off?

We aren't alone, a few other people including my sister have seen the postie on Sunday as well. May give Royal Mail a ring.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.

I managed to get a word with my postie, He said it's only occasionally they work on Sunday's and that's only on the lead up to Christmas, when they have a lot of perishable goods to deliver.
He said that maybe there is a backlog at your local sorting office and it is a temporary local thing. He said seeing the standard of staff that the post office employs these days, its more than likely that your postie is working some sort of fiddle with his hours and is playing catch up.
He thinks a call to your local sorting office for an explanation is in order.

office is probably in doo doo
so they are using Sunday to 'catch up'
if they are delivering mail(not packets) then the office is in breach of the USO and the managers will be falsifying figures0 -
Hi do you think it could be a temp postie - who didn't manage to finish his round in time?
I know we have had days with no post and it was when our usual one was on holiday??The worst cliques are those which consist of one man ~ George Bernard Shaw

that would be willful delay of mail and a sackable offence
as much as RM managers will deny it,there are set procedures in place for staff if they wont/cant complete
holding it over till the Sunday isnt one of them!0 -
Its been packets and letters, all stuff that fits in a post box, so its not a van delivery.
Ill try and give my sorting office a ring today/tomorrow and see if there was a reason. I am expecting it just to be an influx of post.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
