I use Lidls strong white but then use other more expensive flours to combine (usually 50% each) for variety my fave is a 3 malts and sunflour seed mix from shipton mill and I have tried several of the Doves ranges,(all good), barleycorn being on the go at the mo!
I make for myslef to tend to make, slice, freeze , and use as needed!0 -

Since starting to post on this site I have bought a panasonic sd253 breadmaker and a morphy richards slow cooker.
I use the slow cooker when I know I'll have a busy day or if I know I don't want to cook that evening, usually Fridays! I have found it great for any type of tomato based dish eg. spaghetti bolognaise, chilli con carne or chicken paprika, I did not find it so good for cooking vegetables eg. carrots, celery, parsnips or potatoes unless they have been cooked a little in the microwave first as they have turned out a little hard for me.
I use the breadmaker a lot but I would like to try and make a good brown loaf for sandwiches and have not found a good recipe yet. I have wheatmeal flour but am not sure if it will do, I feel an experiment coming. If anyone knows a good brown bread recipe for their panny could you please post. I have made delicious white bread and spicy fruit loaf and sundried tomato and parmesan loaf. Also there is a great recipe on this board for a banana bread which does not need yeast. The pizza dough is good too, but I think I will add less water the next time I make it as it is very sticky. I am still buying brown sliced pans in the shop until I get a good recipe.
Good luck you will have loads of fun with these items and this site is great for you to continue using them.Penny xxx

brill . well if it makes you feel any better I too had a failure over the weekend, decided to experiment with the "fastbake" option. This is 58 mins as opposed to the normal white bread setting which is 2hrs 58. And there is a reason - after 58 mins only its vile!! Never mind, worth a try!
The ducks may well get it at the weekendJan GC: £202.65/£450 (as of 4-1-12)
