Sorry to sound thick but when you booked ur venue an paid ur deposit was it off ur balance of the whole thing or added to the balance of the whole thing has some venues say hire plus deposit and others dont so I'm alittle confused and sorry to confuse any1 else?

Mine was taken off the balance, i.e total hire cost £2000, deposit £500, balance to pay £1500.:j Debt Free 27.07.2011!! :j0

We asked our venue this. We were told that they take it off the total costs. Some of the others we asked were extra. Your best bet is to ask!0

ours was taken off the balance. because my mum and dad are paying for that side of things they paid £600 deposit and the rest 4 weeks before the wedding (about £6000 - only coz we have a large close immediate family :0/)

Thanks everyone for ur replys just looking at venues and some say a deposit plus ur balance and some dont say and others want a deposit but you can get it back sooo confusing to me hope nothink else is. this site is great for asking questions and looking at everyones up and coming weddings and ideas I love it some much thanks ladies and gents0

On our first venue, we had to pay the full amount up front. I wont be doing that again. :eek:
Generally from what I can see, it is usually a deposit (looking at about the £1000 mark or less) which will then be taken off the balance at the end). Usually it is a non-refundable deposit so be very, very sure before you pay.
