Any advice on debt management schemes?

Hi everyone
Posted for the first time here this morning and everyone is so helpful, it's a but overwhelming all of this, huh?
Ok, spent some more time on the CCCS site and was just wondering if anyone had any luck with going into some kind of debt management scheme?
It would be interesting to hear stories of whether or not people were willing to freeze interest etc - I think that would help me hugely at the moment. I'd have thought credit card companies would be more likely to agree to this - what about personal loans?
Does this go onto your credit file, and how does it work? Anyone had nasty phone calls as a result? Think I might have to turn my phone off for the forseeable future...!
Thanks again
Rach

PS Just figured out the snowball thingie - looks like my debt free date is April 2011 :-/

Have a little search around for DMP in the search box, theres LOADS among us on DMPs here:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
