Bed recommendations for 9 year old - day/cabin/high???

I am in discussions with my 9 year old daughter re: redecorating her bedroom. She needs a new bed and wants something 'different'! I would like to get a bed with an extra mattress for sleepovers. She was keen on a high sleeper at first but the ladder thing worries me a little!
We say a day bed in Ikea that she loved but with all the extras (mattress underneath, special headboard etc), it seemed a lot of money.
Just wondered if any of you keen money savers could advise me.
Thanks
Lisa

You can get divan guest beds. They are a normal divan bed with a pull out bed stored underneath.
I wouldn't go for Ikea as their mattress quality is terrible.0 -
I am sure she will be find with the ladder, my DD has been in a full height cabin bed since she was 3 and has never fallen out or off the ladder....its been 3 years.:hello:0

Be aware that kids grow up fast: my dad bought us bunk beds and a high rise sort of bed with desk below it when we were 9 and 11. It got to 12 months, I didn't feel my bed suited me, my sister came to the same conclusion about a year later. 9 is a tricky age I think!0

My 12 year old has been in a midi cabin bed (with a slide out desk and bookcase) since he was 5 and never had a problem with the ladder plus it means all his toy boxes can go underneath. We also have a single divan for my daughter with a pull out and pop up spare bed underneath but it's much better than just a mattress, it's a proper bed and gets used a lot. At 9 I don't think I'd be going for the cabin bed as the useful life expectancy would be too short, having said that I can't get my 12 year old to part with his.0

Cabin beds tend to be a standard single, so shouldn't really age too badly. What about a childrens bed that just looks a bit different/funky with a pull out underneath?0
