i know it sounds a bit corny but im doing it & its fun!!
I have a huge family, full of Uncles and Aunts, and we all tend to buy a little something for each other!!
So..... all this year, i've been collecting Jam Jars and Sauce bottles and putting them under the sink - i have TONS now!!!
Anyway, i've got a few bottles of glass paint and some little diamonte sparkly things and im making Vases for the females in my family!! I've done two so far, and they look great! They're personal and have come out better than expected.
The men in my family are all getting Christmas cookies!!!
As you can see, i owe a fair whack of money so its good to do this...
Not only am i recycling the old jars and not spending money on presents.... i'm staying in in the evenings doing them and so im not going out spending!!:T :T :T :T :T :T :T :T
Its fun - you should try it!! Good Luck

What a great idea. Alas, having NO talent whatsoever in the artistic or culinary areas, my offerings would either cause utter horror or hysterical laughter. Would liven up Xmas day though!!:rotfl:"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250

All the "posh" (really wealthy) people I know exchange very small token gifts at Christmas - they buy beautiful Christmas cards (usually charity ones) and love homemade gifts.
I decided this is one of the ways is which they amassed their wealth - not feeling the need to spend as and when the media dictates but to still celebrate all events with gusto.
Your homemade jars sound gorgeous...wish I was as arty.
