Job offer

I came second in a job interview but the woman said they were really impressed with me and are going to offer me a similar job and they said they will phone me either friday or saturday and now it is near the end of the day. Should I send them an email?

No dont do anything, as its too early. Let a week pass and if you dont hear anything, then theres no harm sending them an email.

    Good Luck.

Things could have over run or maybe something cropped up that was more important and the phone call will come next week
  • Yay!

See. Something unexpected is always round the corner (last week you were feeling pretty hopeless, because Hays had been so negative).

Good luck. I hope that you get a good result, even though it isn't the actual job that you applied for.
  • Fantastic! Any news matt?
  • don't ever email them as it seems desperate and they can easily fob you off. if it goes 2 weeks give them a friendly ring. though not looking good, as alot of people are just being polite and saying you came 2nd as it's the polite thing to do. the woman that got given the job might not want it though or fail her references and hopefully if you did really come 2nd they will offer you the job you went for instead. good luck with it all :)

At this time of the year it is possible that the person who will be dealing with your situation may be on holiday but I agree with the other posters, just hang fire for a while.

Again, as someone has already mentioned, the candidate who was selected for the original post you applied for may have rejected the job offer or there may have been issues with references.

Hope it works out for you anyway.

    Good luck.
