Argos Balance Transfer

Hi everyone.

I received my Creation credit card this morning and I was hoping to transfer the whole balance of my Argos card.
I haven't used the Argos card for a while and decided to cut it up.
Apparently the account number and the card number are slightly different making it difficult to perform a balance transfer.

How can I transfer the balance?

I recently started working for RBS and in training, were told that we cant do balance transfers from argos cards and from another store card. (Next or M&S, cant remember which).

I heard the reason was because its a buy now pay later thing rather than a credit card per se. And cus the 2 companies dont have an agreement for doing BTs with each other. Maybe thats just RBS, dont know.

If you find you cant transfer to any other card and are getting hammered with interest.... you could get another card, do a money transfer (transfer available credit on it to a bank account), withdraw the cash from your bank and use it to pay off the argos card.

Might work with a 0% on purchases card. But even though money transfers are charged at the interest rate of purchases, I dont know if its actually classed as a purchase so dont know if you'd still get 0% by doing that.

The money transfer sounds like a good idea.:T I'm waiting for a decision on a new card so I'll see what happens with that first.

This has come up before - apparently Argos cards cannot be balanced transferred.

as above, you have never been able to bal transfer, also you cant pay by credit card
