  • Toys R U sin Peterborough have approx 30 of the TOP SECRET boxed TMX today (Saturday @ 16:30 i saw them)

Walk inside , bottom of the first aisle where the huge cuddly toys are and they are stacked up there, definitely TOP SECRET as opposed to WARNING as well

Apparently the first batch of top secret say no peeking and then subsequent batches of top secret / warning say Elmo ticklish.
  • Has anyone else had an american win an ebay auction on ebay only to say they thoght the price was in dollars ?????eh??????

Edit: OK, just read a couple of pages previous, I assume a lot of people have. My buyer said that she put a bid in on mobile and it came up as that price in dollars. And I will name and shame....her ebay user name is "kirstyluv9". (just in case she has messed someone else about as well).

Also, another of my ebay auction elmos just managed a very disapointing £30 +6.85 p&p, which is pretty worrying considering I have a few more to get rid of.

Same here. Just sold one to a bidder from the US and they paid £41.00 plus £19 P&P via paypal. The strangest one i ever had was a US buyer buying an old N64 for £45.00 and it cost them £58 for me to send! Madness but good for me!

I don't understand why people are buying them on ebay for a higher price than they can order them on sites like Woolworth?

Supply and demand. I still believe these Elmos are much easier to get than hype claims in the U.S. which is why there are a growing number of non-paying winners. Fisher Price are not stupid and know these will be great sellers, but it helps create panic buying if they hold back on their supplies at the beginning. The Elmo IS selling out quickly, but the stores are getting plenty of re-supplies. Lots of US stores are getting them back in stock. It's easy to pick one up here in the UK, well, my part of London anyway.

Last year xbox 360 was supposed to be in short supply. It was at first, but it was only a month after the release date, they were easy to pick up. I know a few people made a killing on eBay with them, but more people made a loss on them. I fell into neither camp!

British kids want Dr Who this year methinks, rather than a big red muppet!
  • I have reserved the very last one from my local Argos for my 2 year old neice. Think she will be very happy with a big red muppet than Dr Who which it'd probably scare her like it did my mum the first time around! :)
