I bought a new windows 7 desktop computer recently and I connected it up to the internet using a wireless dongle. It was all working fine.
I had to move it so I disconnected it but later eneded up placing it where it was before. This time when I tried to connect it to the internet using the dongle, it couldn't find any wireless networks to connect to.
I've tried installing drivers from the cd and stuff like that. I've even tried other wireless dongles but it still isn't working.
Can someone please help?

What are you trying to connect to, exactly? Do you have your own wireless LAN with a router that is plugged into a wired connection (BT phone line/cable connection) to the internet and you are trying to get a wireless connection between your machine and your wireless router OR do you have a 3G wireless dongle from a mobile phone company which should connect wirelessly to the phone company's mobile mast and straight into the internet (in the same way that your mobile phone does)....0

OK, so do you know that the router is working OK? Can you see your router from another machine/dongle? Are any of your neighbours in range - can they see your LAN ?0

You'll neet to check your router
Physically...
antenna still connected?
antenna upright (assuming it was before)?
often there is a WiFi light - is it on?
Then check the settings.
Is WiFi still turned on?
Is SSID broadcast on? If not you'll need to enter the SSID as well as the passphrase to connect.
Try moving closer to see if it is working at all.0 -
The router works fine because i'm using another laptop which is connected to that router0

OK, so it's either software related on the machine that isn't working or hardware fault in the dongle.
Does the 'bad' dongle work OK in the good machine?
Did you uninstall the old drivers on the 'bad' machine before you reinstalled them ?0 -
All of those dongles are just pain on the neck! Hardly I found any which gives a good service. Comparing few Asian countries the UK mob companies are so behind!!0

Can I just add that some Firewalls interfere with these dongles. Especially kaspersky. Had nightmares setting up my brother in laws with kaspersky and his dongle. But if this is the case, a quick google search identifies the problem.4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0
