Correct eye prescription?

Hi all
I've recently had 2 eye tests, (don't ask) one at a chain & one at an independent. Are the following 2 prescriptions are different, or broadly similar please?
1) Sphere Cyl Axis Near Add
Distance R -2.00 +1.75 10 +0.75
L -1.25 +1.50 165 +0.75
2) Sphere Cyl Axis Near Add
Distance R -0.25 -1.75 99 +1.00
L -0.25 -1.50 72 +1.00
I know there are 2 ways of writing prescriptions, and on the face of it they look wildly different, but I'm just curious.
Been having a go with vaifocals, but ended up going back to just 2 sep pairs, distance & reading.
Thanks

The first presription, transposed into the same form as the second, is:
R -0.25/-1.75X100 Add +1.00
L +0.25/-1.50X75 Add +1.00
Comparing the two prescriptions, the right eye is almost identical and there is a small difference in the left.
I can't tell you which is "correct" as such but if you've already got the glasses made up and are satisfied, don't worry about it.0 -
Just out of curiosity, why did you have 2 tests.
1 is normally sufficien.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Thanks for the replies.
It's complicated.....I do mystery shopping. The first test was my regular eye test in March, the second was with a high street chain where I was "undercover". It was interesting becuase my first optician said my eyes soaked up too much power & my answers were requesting a prescription way too strong for me, he advised me to use reading glasses (which I am now using) for close work. At the second test there was no mention of my power hungry tendencies, & I was prescribed varifocals, which funnily enough, the distance vision after a few days was clearly overcorrected, & gave me headaches, & I've ended up going back to where I was with the first opticians advice, using readers for close work, & making do with my old distance glasses which at least is working.
I think my husband thinks I am a madwoman.....0
