Tumble dryer or central heating?

Morning all,
I have a dilema (just for a change:D )
Here, up in not so sunny Scotland it is grey, wet & miserable, but not quite cold enough in the house for heating yet. I am trying to keep my gas/electric bills under control this winter but I am taking 2-3 days to get my washing dry.
Sooo to put on heating or to use very costly tumble dryer??
Answers on a postcard please:D
thanks

Hiya, I would use the dryer until its cold enough to put the heating on, then underwear goes on the radiator in the utility room and everything else on clothes horses (I dont have a tumble dryer)“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0

um tricky. if it was me i would prob put heating on very low. or put an airer up in kitchen when i doing my cooking, then leave oven door open once finished cooking to let the heat out.
if i had towels to dry i'd prob just leave on airer's then give them a final 10 mins in tumbly.
hope this helps u.
wish we had rain. it warm and sunny here and i really don't like it. i'm in snuggle mode0 -
I always find that hanging clothes around the house causes condensation. Can you not get A rated tumble driers with some economic setting, low heat setting which may not cost too much to run?0

How about putting them in the drier just to get them started, then using a maiden. Hopefully cheaper than putting on your heating, and cheaper than completely drying will drier - if you see what I mean?
Use my drier all the time - clothes don't smell very fresh if they take a long time to dry.:D0 -
I put my washing out if it isn't actually raining or forecast and then when I bring it in I put it in the tumbel drier to finish. If you have thermostatic radiator valves you could put just one radiator on and dry them that way. Or put them in front of the fire.0

I do the same throughout the year, put washing out if the forecast on ceefax says its okay for the next day. (baring obviously too cold days in winter but dry)
Or put clothes on airer, that stands for July or December.
I do have a tumble dryer but have only used it twice since joining OS0 -
thanks all,
it's still pouring buckets but I think the tumble will win because it's really clammy.
off I go grudgingly to get it from the cupboard:mad:

I would use the tumble dryer (on eco7 only tho) LOL. I'm fortunate that while the weather is still mild I can still get things dry on wet days by popping the airer in the gargage.Life's a beach! Take your shoes off and feel the sand between your toes.0
