Hello all,
I received a letter off reliable collections todays stating that i have to pay them £213 straight away all because last year i made a late payment on my viva la diva account.
The problem started when i moved house although i informed them of my moving and change of address they still wrote to my old one for around 3 months incurring more charges.
They are ringing me up to 25 times a day and i receive at least one letter threatening debt collectors every day i have rang them and explained that the balance was cleared before it went to them and that the current balnce is all charges but they have not listened and have continued to be really rude.
Im at a loss about what to do and any help would be very useful.
Thank you

Hi Sazzal and welcome to the forum,
You should tell them the next time you call that this matter is in dispute and you only wish to be contacted by letter from now on. Put the phone down and send the letter I've put below to the lovely people. Regarding the dispute, someone with more knowledge than me should be along soon to advise you how to deal with that.
Good luck in getting sorted
Dear Sirs,
Account No: XXXXXXXX
I am writing in relation to the quantity and frequency of telephone calls that I have received from your company, which I deem to be personally harassing. I have verbally requested that these stop, but I am still receiving calls and I now require all further correspondence from your company to be made in writing only. I am of the view that your continued harassment of me by telephone puts you in breach of Section 40 of the Administration of Justice Act 1970, and the Protection from Harassment Act 1997.
If you continue to harass me by telephone, you will also be in breach of the Communications Act (2003) s.127 and I will report you to OFCOM, Trading Standards and The Office of Fair Trading, meaning that you will be liable to a substantial fine. Be advised that any further telephone calls from your company may be recorded and used in evidence and I expect this harassment to cease immediately.
Yours faithfully

hi, reliable collection is a in house debt company for JDWilliams, they are terrible people depending whom, you have, Now, send a £1, ask for a cca, if your account is more than six years old, because JDwilliams, only keep records 6yrs going back, we got paid out on hubby account because, they could not prove the debt with out a signed proper agreement thing, Though we paid £140, we would had to pay another £140.00 until I did a cca it got wiped out..finished
. One arm of the notso reliable, is simplybe, they have been reported to the OFT/consumer for ringing while they are in a DMP with payplan. I sent them a letter to them like the one above. At least phone stop ringing, Now we owe on one other of their catalogues is £6.44, but they up the rest with charges by their statement £130.00, even a day late with payment its a £12.00 fine.
anyway l do that letter adding you enclosing a P.Order for £1.. for a cca check. type your name doing not write it by pen.etc.. People knwn to lift them for agreements. At simplybe l asked for a statement how much and when payments gone in, not replied as yet.. They seem to want two months in one. They do tend to scare lots of people, look at threads here, in forum search, best of luck, let us know how you got on0
