    Hi

Have you tried posting this on the Techie sub forum ? there are some clever bods on there that may be able to help you
  • oh no, I haven't...where can I find this board?
  • Few questions first

    What version of windows?
How did they sit on it? Fall heavily, or just sit on the kboard?

Is the laptop working on or is it broken?

You can do it yourself with some software (around £50-£100) but get someone who knows a thing about computers to do it. Oh and don't touch the laptop anymore, if you turn it on and off you may damage the hard drive even more. It might not recover anything though depending on what damage has been done. How is the hard drive damaged exactly? Is it broken or were the files just deleted.

I know this is too late now but backup, backup, backup. You must have copies of these or some of these photos over the 8 year period.

I can assure you it won't cost £500. Post on the techie board and someone will help.

Put it into perspective too, it's just pictures, you still have the children. It's easy to get morose and let everything feel worse than it is, but ulitimately you still have the things you love the most.
I refuse to be afraid of the big bad wolf, spiders, or debt collection agencies; one of them's not real and the other two are powerless without my fear.
(Ok, one of them is powerless, spiders can be nasty.)

Hi sorry very non techie.. but after having my laptop stolen - I now have an external hard drive to back them all up and I also save them to places like trueprint or someting like that (obv have loads on FB so I can always get them from someone)

As Hannah says you still have your lovely kiddies - just take some more! I am sure someone will help you get the photos back

    Good luck
