home insurance??

Im hoping to exchange contracts on my new house tomorrow and complete in 2 weeks...i heared that after exchange the house is my responsibility and i have to arrange proper insurance...I presume building insurance ...is that true??

    yes. usually its also a condition of the mortgage where applicable

    usally your solicitor wont exchange until you have the home insurance in place to safeguard you.many insurers will fax a copy to your solicitor straight away if you have left it a bit late.
