hi,i bought a marching flute in glasgow for £70 a few years back.

Yamaha are trusted and make good beginner ranges. I wouldn't buy secondhand unless you go to a decent shop where you can try them out and get advice, unless you have a flautist to guide you. Ebay have the odd second hand gem, but also some rubbish on sale from China.
