hi would like to no when you ring it ask them to look for mortgage does it affect your credit rate or are thy just searching. can you goto as many fee free broker as you want to find best deal.

Apparently L&C will only start the ball rolling if you have had an offer accepted on a property

You can indeed go to as meny fee free brokers as you want, but going to a couple should be enough to see if they are giving you similar deals. Make sure they are whole of market though , as opposed to simply being limited to a panel of lenders

A broker is meant to get your express consent before they get an agreement in principle or credit check you - I'm sure most do but, make sure when you speak to any broker that you tell them if you don't want checking at this stage. If you have concerns about your credit rating it is best to get a copy of it yourself and take it to the broker
